Bear wears the Crown

Not the weather for cricket, but it didn't deter the hardy Aunt Sally crew. A comfortable 4-2 home victory against The Crown was achieved with minimal fuss. Initial worries that Dave Latimer had overshortened the pitch to suit his feeble throwing technique, were wide of the mark (like his aim), and a 30' throw was paced out by our independant adjudicator Molly. Heavy scoring from Darts Dave & Multi Talented Tim, was nearly matched by Steve & Jon, to ensure one of our more consistent team performances. Ben was the runt of the litter tonight with a 2 (which was considered a good score last year !)- never mind son !
Beer leg won too, so a good night.
We have started giving our opposition teams a "good blokes" rating, and I'm pleased to say The Crown scored quite highly, with only a few things nicked. 7/10- well done !

As Tim said, he and Dave are giving captins Jon and Steve a bit of competition and last night was no exception.(I did overhear the idea of sharpening one end of the stick and putting some flights on the other end but i'm still not convinced that this would be a good move)

Still no Dave Latimer, having surprised himself at doing such a good job to the pitch, he dissapeared back into hibernation can someone tell him it's supposed to be summer.

Next weeks Aunt Sally match will be played for Charity to raise money for the "BUY SARAH RUDGE A NEW WHEEL BARROW" APPEAL. Sarah's old wheelbarrow has come up against hard times, only 18 months ago it was a young, vibrant and healthy wheel barrow but was abducted by the village Pixie, was sent into hard labour and may even been used as a sex slave. It has now returned deflated, defiled and a broken barrow full of crap. Please help this poor creature and also save any other barrows from the same fate.

How dare you link my name with hard labour. I'll have you know in all my long life labouring around the world, nobody has ever accused me of labouring hard. Please do nor slur my good name- I have my reputation to think of.
